TSEQ–Part 4

los cielos

su paso: el aire barrido

Those birds in the photo above are not crows.  They are black vultures and caracaras and turkey vultures.

There were quite a number of them soaring above us on the ranch we visited this morning.

We did not trap any quail today but we visited a ranch that is relatively undisturbed, quite beautiful and full of natural seeps which have water even in this dryest of dry years.

At one point, the vultures were down near the water but flew away when I started towards them.  They lifted back into the swirl of birds overhead.

Because we had some issues organizing our ride out, we did not get there until later in the day and really, the primary goal was for me to get to see the site–Jennifer Gee already having spent time out there. But we did see the birds of prey and Magpie Jays which are quite nice.

Coati tracks as well and, so Jennifer has been told, ocelots, cougars and jaguars.  Certainly, someone of some such ilk contributed to the death of this deer.

It is beautiful.

Ser perfecta era como mirar un huevo.
